Shockwave also known as Acoustic Wave Therapy, uses a mechnical probe which generates sound waves to penetrate the skin. The probe hits the surface of the skin sending a vibration and ripple into the fatty subcutaneous tissue. Normal operation is between 40-150kHz which is like hitting the skin 50 times per second.
The process stimulates blood flow, it also damages the fatty subcutaneous tissue which triggers the body to repair itself. This repairing of the tissue helps with generating new collagen fibres and fatty tissues which can be used to remove cellulite and uneven skin textures. It can also be used to repair ligament or muscular damage by triggering this auto response.
The treatment is quick, only 30 minutes is required per area affected, and there is no pain although some customers may experience slight discomfort.
