• Why Laser Hair Removal?

  Excess hair is one of the leading problems for both men and women. Laser hair removal is the most effective method available that can be used almost anywhere on the face and body. Unlike other methods such as waxing and shaving laser hair removal gives long lasting results.

• How Does LASER Hair Removal Work?

  Laser Hair Removal works by directing concentrated light to target the hair follicle at the root. The laser inhibits the hair’s ability to grow without disrupting or damaging the skin’s surface, allowing even the most sensitive skin to be treated.

  Laser (Light Amplification by Stimulation of Emitted Radiation) is a Beam of light which is set at a single frequency. The Light is then accelerated by bouncing back and forth through a medium until it has enough power. Typically for Hair Removal we use Alexandrite medium which generates a 755nm LASER. This high power laser travels down the stem of the hair to reach the follicle while reflecting of the skin surface.

• How long does LASER Hair Removal Last? Is it Actually Permanent?

  The hair removal is permanent, however, typically there are between 124 – 200 Hair follicles per square cm on the skin. Not all of these follicles are active and only hair with a stem can be treated with laser, additionally this does not stop new hair growing.

  The Laser hair removal is approximately 90% efficient. This means 10% of the Hair in a treated area may survive. So additional sessions are required to get rid of 99.9% of Hair Growth.

  Normally a package of 6 sessions is enough to thoroughly treat the target area, however, in some cases 12 sessions may be required for thicker, courser and denser hair.

• Preparation and Aftercare for Hair Removal

  Shave the treatment area the night before your appointment.

  Do not wax within the 4 weeks leading up to your appointment as pigment is required in the hair follicle for the laser to identify the hair and treatment to be effective.

  Avoid exposing the treatment area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.
